THE PUBLISHER’S NOTE

A story left out
is a world
left unseen.

THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE.

Some voices have spent too long in the margins. We’re here to make room for them.

Wang & Jean publishes stories excluded from the mainstream—across backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Because the more stories we hear, the more of the world we understand.

THE MIND BEHIND THE PAGES

From the courtroom
to the human story.

A lawyer’s eye for conflict.
A novelist’s instinct for what lies beneath.

After more than two decades practicing law, James Ciccone turned to fiction. His stories enter America’s past through the lives of people its familiar narratives too often leave behind.

The racing grounds of Saratoga. The frontier of Lake County. A courtroom in the Jim Crow South. Different settings, connected by a question: whose story have we yet to hear?
